Grandma Gail, an accomplished sitter herself, decided the goal this past week would be to teach the boys to sit up. Andre took to it like a fish to water.
Luke was able to sit, too, but we have no pictures of him sitting, because he quickly finds something he wants to put in his mouth and takes off after it, rolling and crawling G.I. Joe style. Sitting is boring.
Andre has a more peculiar form of locomotion. We call it the reverse inchworm. He lies on his back, plants his feet, digs his head into the ground, arches his back up, and propels himself in the direction of his head. The photo doesn't do it justice, but there is a good six inches of clearance under his back here.
It looks like a yoga pose, but if any teacher tried to get her students to to this, they would, at worst, snap their spinal cords, and, at best, never go to that teacher's class again. Go ahead, try it.
Finally, spring is here, which means relaxing outside barefoot after work.
