A problem with summer is that you get to be too busy having fun to blog, so when you finally get around to it, you end up with this, the 2007 MidSummmer Blogapalooza. Get comfortable, stretch out your scrolling fingers...let's go.
We start with yesterday's trip to Connecticut and Tommy and Ava's new pool. They also introduced us to the pleasures of watermelon slices on the rind. The only thing better than having a pool is having friends with pools. Good work, T & A. (Better make that
A & T.)

and if you have friends (Marc, Jen, Jill, Ryan, Heather, Danon, & Dagney are in this pic) with pools in the Hamptons, then you are really in business!

Our pool ($5 - Stop and Shop) ain't much to look at

...but you can't beat the view (that's Terry and Kirby, btw)

and, of course, we have the beach, which is like a giant sandbox next to a pool that you can pee in.
You may have noticed wood where once there was none. After years of talking about it, we finally went ahead and built the deck. It's great for riding bikes...

or brunching with Grandma...

...or just getting crazy, really...

It was a lot of work, but Dad did help some, and it was well worth it.

In June, we moved to New Jersey, to a nice town with many fun things, including a public pool with a giant slide, which we are too short to go on.

We love our new town and house, but we soon learned the downside: we moved there because Mommy had to start work. Now she makes us call her Dr. Mommy, and some days it isn't easy to get an appointment with her.

but we make sure every moment with her is of the highest quality, like our getaway to the Catskills.Where we discovered the stream...and the hammock...and the trough. And we hired Aunt Kate for the summer to help cart us around.

We have been searching far and wide in New Jersey for the ultimate playground, even venturing into New York City. In the meantime, we gotten to be proficient climbers.

(Notice Andre's summer haircut. He cried and cried, but it had to be done, and even he had to agree it looked good.) A picnic of hot dogs and pretzels in the Sheep Meadow was a blast!

So much so that Andre was really tired on the way home. (It was Mommy's corny joke, but Luke thought it was funny.)

And, of course, sometimes we just relax, with a cookie and a maybe a shoe. (Relaxing, cookies, and shoes being three of Luke's passions.)
